I try to understand variability and predictability in the Pacific and its global impacts, specifically I investigate how climate in the Pacific can impact Arctic climate.

What are you most excited about with this project?
I am most excited about the possibility of forecasting climate like we do weather forecasting.

What do you see as your biggest challenge for now?
My main challenge at the moment is dealing with model diversity. I use climate models for my research and the challenge is to understand if my findings only apply to the model I use myself, or are universal and therefore also explain the real world. Another challenge is then to figure out why the models don't agree. Dealing with the large amount of model data is also always a hassle.
